ABOUT KDI
KDI was founded by Karl de la Guerra in 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina as an international security consulting and tactical training company. In 2015 KDI launched their brand KDI Protective Services of South Carolina as a state licensed private security agency specializing in executive protection. In 2020 KDI Protective Services obtained their state private investigator license for South Carolina and created their first Community Engagement Team. In 2025 KDI obtained their Close Personal Capital Protection (CPP) license in North Carolina to conduct executive protection operations.
OUR FOUNDER & CEO
Karl de la Guerra, a 47-year veteran of the protective services industry, is Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Karl de la Guerra, Inc., an international security consulting and protective services training agency based in the Carolinas. Karl also operates KDI Protective Services of South Carolina, a licensed, state-wide private sector response organization providing specialized support services to private and public sector teams in need of high-level protection operations.
