Sawmill is the only private sector tactical training complex that KDI has chosen as a partner. And for those that know our demand for quality and educational excellence, this says a lot!
When you arrive, you’ll find 250 acres of unique terrain and multiple essential training venues. This is such a diverse training complex offering barracks for forty-three students, helicopter landing zones, a 50’ tower, indoor airconditioned classrooms with full A/V and streaming capabilities, 3 ponds, a burn house, confined space rescue area, rappelling towers, multiple CQB/CQC structures, simulation zones, a unique and difficult 1,400-yard long range rifle range, multiple 25 to 100-yard outdoor ranges and 1,400 feet of river frontage on the back of the property. Full wi-fi and cell service is excellent at this facility.
During our courses, this is a secure facility, with 24/7 on-site security provided by KDI Protective Services.
As for the location, it’s centrally located an equal distance from Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA (approximately 2 hours each way), and only 39 miles from the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. There is also a large municipal airport located 10 minutes from the facility.

7-DAY ADVANCED EXECUTIVE PROTECTION COURSE
Because of the wide array of training sites at the Sawmill, we are able to bring forward 100% of our educational resources for students interested in an amazing Team KDI experience!
This particular course highlights the very best in all our Executive Protection training programs. It includes close protection, tactical medicine, protective driving, firearms (live fire and airsoft), motorcade and protective driving, counter assault team (CAT) operations, surveillance and reconnaissance, and a variety of additional topics. This one-stop, in-residence facility allows us to train beyond the limits of what we offer with our standard 7-day EP course. Housing and meals are included in the course tuition.
TACTICAL DRIVING
Through our tactical driving partners AS3 International, Inc. a company based in the Carolinas, we are pleased to offer you a driving experience like no other. The operational curriculum of our instructor cadre was developed and refined in the conflict areas of Mexico, home of AS3 Driver Training headquartered in Mexico City. Each driving program is specifically developed for the students that are attending. Why? Because we recognize that every operational area you are assigned, holds different threats and environment. Housing and meals are included in the course tuition
ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY TRAINING
Our Entertainment Industry Training Group is dedicated to conducting specialized training for actors performing in military, police, EMS, atrial arts, law, bodyguard, private investigator and border related roles. Through the use of “Saturation Training” we reduce the traditional training time, saving you money and providing directors and technical advisors with qualified actors who bring with them a training record listing their verified training in specific skills.
We work closely with individual actors, independent film makers and large studios to create customized training programs that are script specific. We provide tactical training and instruction for the following:
Police: Patrolman, Supervisor, Detective, Command Staff, Motorcycle Officer, Traffic Investigator, SWAT and Undercover.
Military: Soldier, Sailor, Airman, both Enlisted and Officers. Training for all military specialties from infantry to special operations. We also provide period specific training from Revolutionary War to present day events.
Border Related: Border Patrol, Human Tracking, Tactical Operator, Aviation.
Medical: Emergency Medicine, Tactical Medicine, Combat Medicine and Medical Scripting.
Other Roles: International Bodyguard, Lawyer, Martial Arts and Private Investigator.
